Aviation and Occupational Medicine

Dr Feroz is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) for Civil Aviation Safety Authority ( CASA) . 

At the time of making an appointment, you will be asked to quote an Aviation Reference Number (ARN). If you do not have an ARN, please contact CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) on 13 1757 or use the below link.  In the event that you do not have an ARN, the appointment will be rebooked.

There are three classes of aviation medicals being:

  • Commercial pilots (Class 1)
  • Private pilots (Class 2)
  • Air Traffic Controllers (Class 3)
Commercial pilots (Class 1)

Are required to have a basic medical as well as ancillary test, such as an audiogram, ECG, blood tests for glucose and lipids.  Commercial pilots will also be provided with a referral to a Designated Aviation Eye Examiner (ophthalmologist).   Depending on your age at the time of the medical, test requirements can vary. 

Private pilots (Class 2)

Are required to have a basic medical but not the additional ancillary tests (e.g. audiogram, ECG, blood tests and referral for eye examination).

Air Traffic Controllers (Class 3)

Are required to have a basic medical but not the additional ancillary tests (e.g. audiogram, ECG, blood tests and referral for eye examination).

Please allow approximately 45 minutes for the medical (excluding ancillary tests). Please ensure you discuss any fees payable at the time of making an appointment with our friendly reception staff.
